Most of what we do is for interior designers and architects specifying lighting for a project. If that is you, this page is the short version.

We are your eyes in Zhongshan

Guzhen, the lighting town inside Zhongshan, holds tens of thousands of lighting manufacturers and makes around 70% of China's decorative lighting. Almost none of them will answer a designer's email in useful English, and the ones that do are usually trading companies. We walk the workshops in person, which means we can go and find the piece you have drawn rather than sell you the piece we happen to stock.

Source to brief

Send us a reference image, the room dimensions, the ceiling height and the budget. We come back with what is actually makeable, in what sizes and finishes, at what price to your client's door. If nothing suits, we say so.

Custom work

Drop length is made to your ceiling as standard. Beyond that we can change diameter, tier count, glass type, metal finish and, on many pieces, the shape itself. Custom work changes both the price and the lead time, and we quote both before anything starts.

Pricing

Prices on the site are a guide only. A real quote is built from the delivery country and the degree of customisation, and it lands at the door with import duty and taxes paid. Trade pricing is available for repeat specifiers and multi-piece projects. Samples and finish swatches are available on request, charged and credited back against the order.

One thing worth knowing if you reclaim tax: Makree Ltd is not currently VAT registered, so your invoice carries no VAT — there is none to add and none to reclaim.

What we take off your plate

Inspection at the workshop before the balance is paid, a film of the finished piece for your client's approval, timber crating, export paperwork, freight, customs and duty.

Lead times

Six to eight weeks is normal: three to four weeks on the bench, then sea freight. If your install date is tighter, tell us early and we will price air freight against it.
