Privacy policy

This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you contact us, ask for a price or place an order. Makree Ltd, trading as Suka, is the data controller. Registered in England and Wales, company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.

What we collect

  • When you ask for a price: your name, email address, delivery country and postcode, and whatever you tell us about your room.
  • When you message us on WhatsApp: your phone number, your profile name and the content of the conversation.
  • When you order: your full delivery address, phone number, and the details of the piece. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
  • When you browse the site: standard technical data — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed — collected by our store platform and its cookies.

Why we use it

To quote, to build and deliver your chandelier, to clear it through customs, to keep you updated while it is being made, to handle warranty and damage claims, to keep our accounting records as the law requires, and to answer you when you get in touch. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

Only the parties who need it to get your order to you:

  • Our freight forwarder and customs broker, who need your name, delivery address and phone number to clear and deliver the goods. This means your delivery details are transferred to and processed in China, and shared with the customs authority of your own country.
  • The workshop building your piece receives the specification and, where a piece ships directly, the delivery address.
  • Our payment provider and our store platform, which host and process orders on our behalf.
  • Our accountants, and HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

International transfers

Because we operate from China and ship from there, your delivery details leave the UK and the European Economic Area. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA we rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose, or on the transfer being necessary to perform our contract with you — for example, to deliver goods you have ordered.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted after 24 months. Order records are kept for seven years, which is the period UK tax law requires. WhatsApp conversations are kept for as long as the account is active; ask us and we will delete a conversation.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. Write to hello@sukadesign.com and we will answer within one month. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies that are necessary for the site to work and to remember your session. We do not run advertising cookies. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, though parts of the site may then not work as intended.

We update this policy when our practices change. The current version always sits on this page.
